![]() Chris - PMCC R3, '02Wow, what a day...! - That's the kind of racing I enjoy. Nice clear weather, warm and dry, just enough sunshine to get you sweating in your leathers. ;)Results table for F2 going into this round were as follows: 1. Scott Griffiths 140 2. Sean Bishop 84 3. Chris Wiltshire 81 3. Hayden Fitzgerald 81 4. Paul Brown 57 .... Close and interesting for 2nd, 3rd and 4th. - And between the three of us on the day, we changed order 2 times. Scott Griffiths 163 2. Hayden Fitzgerald 105 3. Chris Wiltshire 104 4. Sean Bishop 100 5. Paul Brown 57 Sean had misfortune in Race 2, when he got tangled up in an incident with Scott Griffiths and came off his bike in the hairpin. - Hayden rode an excellent second race, compared to other riders I seemed to be going backwards, but my times hadn't changed much. More that they had all pulled their finger out. I had a chat with Stella over the points, and realised that Hayden had taken the lead over me by a single point. - My Race 2 lap times were quicker in F1 than they were in F2. - So my backward performance in F2 R2, could have been down to getting tired. Greg and I made a tactical decision to sit out the third F1 race, and concentrate on the final F2 race. - I sat and focussed on what I was going to do. With motivation behind me, I got within .1 of a second of my best laptime round Taupo. 43.11, my previous best being a 43.02 (Greg was wrong in his report! - Someone note down the time and date!)... This was such a great accomplishment for me at Taupo, I've not been this close since I set that personal best 2 years ago! :) And in doing so, I managed to stay in front of Hayden..
